About me:
I took my first photographs in Elementary school, where we exposed photographs using pin-hole cameras made from old cereal boxes and tape. I remember the ensuing excitement that followed when we closed ourselves in the teacher's bathroom and watched our visions appeared on an obscure square of white paper. In high school my interest was renewed when a graphic design class included a photography module. This time we got to use "real" camera's, learnt about aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, etc. and got to develop film using enlargers and chemicals where we could somewhat control what the end result would look like. Although my interest in photography never went away, life after school got busy, restricting my participation to that of a casual observer. In 2006, I suffered an injury that left me unable to work, I needed something to focus on, to keep my mind busy, a reason to leave the house, and so photography re-entered my life. After much research and saving, I purchased a Pentax K10D body in April 2007. As money was tight, I bought older glass, the first lens I bought was an A70-210F4, next came the A35-105F3.5 & 50F1.7. I was pretty much set. To date I have taken over 7000 shots and acquired two autofocus lenses. My goal now is to appease the wife and actually get some of those shots developed, (I have only printed a handful of photos). Hopefully Bill can help.
