Last updated March 20th at 12:12pm The article below was written by me awhile back, many things have changed since that time. The success that I have had selling the G1 as well as other Panasonic cameras and M/4/3 lenses has increased my out of town customers significantly. We have also added a products page to make it easier for people to ask for information and to check pricing. We may expand this to an on-line store in the future. I am now a Samsung dealer and able to sell the NX10 system and the EX1 compact. (more)
Last updated January 29th at 10:10am Bill Wilby and Sandra Einarson are pleased to introduce the new owners of Contact Photo Arts: Carol and Dave Lajoie, the owners of Value Drug Mart Grand Forks. Carol is the photo Department manager, and Bill will be working for Carol during the first year to insure a smooth transition. This is a big change for Contact Photo Arts. The family business started by Bill and Sandra in 1983 has grown from its beginnings as a portrait studio to full service photo lab and camera store. (more)

Last updated a long time ago Choice & Distance: A Literary Focus On PhotographySight is a curious sense. We live in an age of the eye, in a visual and textual culture that is different from the oral cultures of the past. This website is just one example: it is full of engaging photos, intricate networks of links and articles that our eyes absorb completely, without any sounds, touches, or tastes. Sight grants us so many choices about how we perceive the world around us. William Blake entranced my imagination several years ago with the idea that we do not simply receive the world as it is through our senses - each of us actively shapes it in our own ways and creates it in our own ways by looking at it, listening to it, feeling it. Last updated a long time ago On our last film my crew-slash-actors and I joked about our total lack of equipment as we dreamed about all the high tech gear we would like to ideally shoot a film. The conversation led to one of us declaring if we had any less equipment, we would be making a film without a video camera. Well, thanks to Nikons' spectacular new D90 model, we can say we did. And what an interesting process it was. After graduating from the Vancouver Film School I wanted to create a number of short films as preparation for a feature length heist film that myself and Rick McEachern had written. (more)
